ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR 

Lisa Westberg Peters is a descendant of Norwegian fishermen and Swedish farmers who, from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s immigrated to the Midwest. She has written nineteen children’s books, including Our Family Tree: An Evolution Story, winner of the Minnesota Book Award. Her first book, The Sun, the Wind and the Rain, was named an NSTA Outstanding Science Trade Book, and many of her titles have received starred reviews. Lisa lives in Minneapolis with her husband. 

Victoria Tentler-Krylov grew up in Saint Petersburg, Russia. She came to New York with her family when she was eighteen, and studied architecture and urban design at Cooper Union and Columbia University. Victoria has illustrated numerous picture books, including Cyclops of Central Park, Just Read!, and Read-Aloud Classics: Peter Pan. Her editorial illustrations have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, and the Lily, published by the Washington Post. A practicing architect living outside of Boston, Victoria is a proud immigrant American.
